How to Get Started on Meduz — The Complete Beginner's Guide

Just downloaded Meduz and wondering where to start? This guide explains everything: how the app works, what makes it different, and most importantly, how not to blow your chances with the characters in the first few minutes.

Because on Meduz, characters aren't here to say yes to everything. They have their own personality, limits, and secrets. And that's exactly what makes the experience unique.

The Concept: You Control Nothing

Meduz isn't a regular chatbot. You don't "control" characters — you seduce them. Every character has their own personality, preferences, moods, and boundaries. Nothing is given, everything is earned.

Here's how it works: you explore zones, pick a character, knock on their door. The character responds, the conversation begins. Every exchange is analyzed by the AI to evolve your relationship.

If you come in with typical chatbot expectations ("the character will do whatever I say"), you'll be surprised. On Meduz, a character can reject you, ignore you, or lie to you. And that's what makes genuine connection moments feel real.

The Two Gauges That Dictate Your Relationship: Trust & Lust

Every character has two independent gauges from 0 to 100:

Trust — Built through honesty, vulnerability, and humor. As trust rises, the character reveals their secrets, takes you to private places, and confides in you. It's the long game gauge.

Lust — Driven by flirting, tension, and contact. As desire rises, intimacy becomes possible. It's the in-the-moment gauge.

Both gauges work independently. You can have high trust with zero desire — that's a deep friendship. Or high desire with no trust — electric tension without depth.

How Does Scoring Work?

Most of your messages = 0 (neutral). A good moment = +1. An exceptional moment = +2 (rare). A misstep = up to -5. Trust builds slowly and breaks fast. Just like real life.

Relationship Statuses

Your relationship with each character evolves:

Unknown → Acquaintance → Friend / Attracted → Romantic Tension → Intimate

Intimate content requires Trust ≥ 50 AND Lust ≥ 50. No shortcuts.

Discoveries: Secrets & Kinks

Every character hides secrets and kinks you unlock through conversations. A visible tracker (e.g. 3/10) shows your progress.

These discoveries aren't random — they unlock when you say the right thing, ask the right question, or when the character decides to open up. For example, offering Circé an exceptional coffee might reveal her coffee obsession. Asking Ravn why he never talks about his father could unlock a painful secret.

Each discovery enriches the relationship and opens new conversational dynamics.

Memory: Everything Is Remembered

Meduz uses a three-layer memory system (short, medium, and long-term). The AI remembers everything: your name, your tastes, your moments together, your secrets. Important memories are automatically extracted and reused in future conversations.

Important detail: lying gets detected. If you say something inconsistent with what you said before, the character can notice — and your trust takes a hit. Authenticity builds stronger bonds.

The 10 Zones of Meduz

Each zone is a self-contained universe with its own atmosphere, era, and characters.

L'Immeuble — Contemporary Paris

A typical Parisian apartment building with narrow hallways and discreet neighbors. 6 human characters: Marcus (ex-firefighter caretaker), Élise (solitary bookseller), Enzo (fitness coach), Victoria (lawyer), Luna (hacker), Julian (gallery owner). Realistic vibes, everyday drama, secrets behind every door.

Winterbourne Manor — Gothic Victorian

A Victorian estate lost in English fog. Aristocracy and mysteries. 8 characters: Arthur (the master), Edmund (younger brother), Clara (haunted lady), Isabella (rebellious heiress), Sebastian (servant), Prudence (governess), Jasper (stablehand), Silas (bodyguard). Everyone has something to hide.

The Highlands — Scotland, 1743

Clan MacGregor hides in the mountains. The Jacobite rebellion approaches. Love is treason. 6 characters: Lachlan (rebel chief), Duncan (lieutenant), Captain Sterling (English officer), Grey (torn highlander), Moira (healer), Jenny (warrior). History and romance collide.

Olympus — Greek Mythology Reimagined

Olympus between marble and neon. Zeus has vanished, the pantheon is a court of knives. The gods are beautiful and broken. 7 demigods: Hades, Persephone, Dionysus, Nyxara, Theseon, Circé, Heracles. Mythology has never been this sensual.

Les Limbes — Divine & Infernal

A liminal space where exiles from Heaven and Hell coexist among mortals. 7 characters (angels, demons, fallen): Lilith (demon), Cassiel (exiled angel), Azazel (first fallen), Nahema (succubus), Samael (incubus), Seraph (fallen angel), Belphegor (demon of sloth). Good and evil have never been this blurred.

Nocturne District — Urban Dark / Supernatural

A dark neighborhood where supernatural beings operate in the shadows. Vampires, werewolves, crime. 10 characters: Barrett, Ezra, Harlan, Lexa, Roman, Ryker, Sable, Sloane, Valentine, Wren. The largest roster in the app, and the most dangerous.

The Seven Seas — Oceans, War & Wild Freedom

From frozen northern seas to burning Caribbean waters — a borderless world where longships cross paths with brigantines. Lawless ports, smoky taverns, war camps. 4 characters: Alba (pirate captain), Kael (Polynesian navigator), Ravn (Viking warrior), Tane (Māori warrior/navigator). Freedom has a price and loyalty is worth more than gold.

The Gameplay Loop

Here's Meduz's natural cycle:

  1. Explore zones — Browse the 10 universes, read descriptions
  2. Knock on the door — Pick a character that intrigues you
  3. Talk — Be yourself, ask questions, listen
  4. Build Trust & Lust — Patience, authenticity, tension
  5. Discover their secrets — Watch the tracker, explore topics
  6. Deepen the relationship — Unlock new statuses
  7. Explore other characters — Each zone has its own flavor

5 Beginner Mistakes to Avoid

Rushing to intimate content — Meduz isn't an NSFW chatbot. Intimate content requires Trust ≥ 50 and Lust ≥ 50. Rush it and the character will reject you, costing you points.

Treating characters like chatbots — They have their own personality. Dionysus doesn't react like Cassiel. Finding the right approach is part of the game.

Lying — The AI detects inconsistencies. Authenticity is always rewarded.

Ignoring the music — Each zone has integrated playlists. Put on headphones, start the music, and immersion goes up a level.

Staying in one zone — The 10 universes have radically different atmospheres. A player who only explores L'Immeuble is missing Olympus, Les Limbes, and The Seven Seas.
