What is MEDUZ?

How it works

MEDUZ is a written experience. You pick a character, you write to them, and they answer in character: their job, their past and the way they speak stay consistent from one message to the next. A relationship builds over days, not in a single session.

• Encounters: a character knocks on your door and starts the conversation.
• Texts and journal: characters write to you between sessions and record what they take away from you.
• Quests: a daily rotation plus weekly quests.
• Playable stories: chapter-based narratives where your choices shape what follows.
• “Our story”: key moments, how the bond evolved, and chapters written by the AI.

Characters and worlds

MEDUZ has 67 characters spread across 10 worlds. Each one is written by the studio: backstory, job, speech patterns and narrative arc are defined in advance. No character is user-generated.

The interface and the character profiles are translated into 11 languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Turkish).

Memory and relationship progression

Two gauges track every relationship: Trust and Lust. They move according to how you behave, and intimacy unlocks gradually — it is not granted on the first message.

Memory is persistent: revelations, relationship milestones and pieces of the character’s past are stored as canon, then brought back into later exchanges. A life-event log tracks the concrete steps (meeting, first kiss, engagement, marriage, moving in together, a birth), where a recent event replaces the one it makes obsolete.

Full memory is included on every plan, the free one included; paid subscriptions keep twice as many memories.

Access and pricing

MEDUZ is free to use through credits: 200 on sign-up, 10 per message, earned again every day and 30 per optional ad — which means unlimited messages with one ad every 4 messages, and access to every character and every world. On the web, the trial is limited to 10 messages.

• Standard, €9.99/month: 1,600 ad-free messages per month, then it falls back to credits; extended memory (2×).
• Unlimited, €19.99/month: unlimited ad-free messages, priority access, extended memory (2×).
• Both plans include a 3-day free trial. These are list prices, excluding seasonal promotions.

What MEDUZ does not do

• No image generation, no video, no voice: everything is read and typed.
• No custom characters: the catalogue is the studio’s, you cannot create your own.
• The public readable stories exist in French and English only, even though the interface is translated into 11 languages.
• The content is adult but moderated: non-consent and forbidden themes are blocked. The public website only shows suggestive material, never explicit material.

Who it is for

MEDUZ is aimed at adults aged 18 and over who like reading and writing: text roleplay, romance, interactive fiction. The pace is that of a relationship that builds, not that of a throwaway chat.

It is neither a general-purpose assistant, nor a social network, nor an image generator. MEDUZ is published by SHADY SQUID INK, a French company (SAS) registered with the RCS of La Rochelle.
